In the past we have used household kerosene to wash our filters, this leaves you with a smelly mess, including the dirt residue and kerosene mix  in the bottom of the dish. Fortunately there is a biodegradable atlernative in a can that make filter washing a breese. Enter Maxima Cleanup, spray it on wash your filters and tip the leftovers on your garden, easy.

Take 1 Dusty Filter and spray with a can of Maxima Cleanup Make sure you apply to the entire surface of the filter We place our filters in a salad spinner, you'll see why soon
Wash with the hose Check you got all the dirt out We also spray the cage and give it a hose off as well
Clean as a whistle but also wet from the wash Here comes the salad spinner, you can pick one up for a few bucks and they do a great job getting the filters dry, spin away !! Apply your favourite filter oil to the filter once it's dry
Work the oil into the filter with your hands, urgical gloves preferred here We use a smear of water proof grease on the seal just to be sure, water and dust take the pathe of least resistance... Reinstall the filter and Bob's your mothers brother (uncle for those who don't get it)

Maxima Cleanup comes in a handy spray can that has no CFC's it's easy to use and has heaps of applications around the workshop. With a suggested retail of $15.50 grab yourself a couple to keep on hand, you'll be wondering how you ever got by without it. (you can aslo use it to clean your chain see here).

Available in all good dirt bike stores or check here for stockists. http://www.stevecramerproducts.com.au/

Phelpsy.
