Worlds best quality standards in an Aussie made tyre changer - Yes please!

We love it when we come across a Australian made product that offers worlds best quality standards. The guys at Tyrepliers take their commitment to quality very seriously. That's why the Australian defence force uses their products and if they're good enough for them then it's good enough for us.

Here at EatMyDirt we do a lot of tyre changes. There are at least 10 of us on any given ride and have topped the scales at over 40. So with an average of about 10 blokes wanting to change tyres you can imagine the mayhem in the lead up to a ride.

Of course we have a master tyre changer by the name of Wazza with knuckles of steel and kneecaps of cast iron that can change a tyre with one hand tied behind his back using a pair of paddle pop sticks.

The latest trip to Tassie however, was the straw that broke the camels back. After fitting new rubber to the 8 bikes that would make the trans Tasman trip and a few lagers we decided that it would be a hoot to run Paddles on the sand dunes at Strahan. Wazza just about shit a brick. WHAT THE !!. Changing 8 tyres to paddles and then changing them back again in the middle of nowhere did not appeal. What's bloke to do.

We'll whilst attending last years Australian Motorcycle Expo we met Chris from Tyrepliers and got to talking. Yep they have a motorcycle head for their Manual Tyre Changer. And yep it works like a dream. So Chris immediately came to mind. HEEELLLP!!.

A couple of phone calls later and we had in our possession the best thing since super heavy duty tubes.

The Manual Tyre Changer works in two ways. Firstly it removes the tyre from the rim after the bead has been broken and, secondly it re-fits the tyre to the rim after any repairs have been carried out.

The Tyrepliers Manual Tyre Changers have all been designed to betotally transportable system for easy removal and refit of tyres in the workshop or field.

The unit has a minimum number of working parts to ensure reliability under extreme environmental conditions.

The unit came with 2 mounting systems, one to be bolted to the workshop floor the other to be mounted on the bike trailer.

The rest makes changing tyres so quick and simple it should be illegal. (click the images to enlarge use the back button to return)

Seen here bolted to the workshop floor. Get the lever out of the holder After removing the valve drop the tyre wall and insert the lever start at the rimlock Position aside the pin and give it a pull
Keep the motion going in one easy stroke Pop out the valve Remove the tube follow suit on the other side and bobs your uncle Drop the new tyre on and use the other end of the lever to spin it back on
a mallet and some soapy water is all that's required to finish the job once the tyre is back on the lever is removed Whalla !! Made only from the finest BHP Hardened Steel

We found the best method is to start and finish at the Rimlock. No need for further wrestling or use of extra levers using this method.

Chris is making improvements to the Jig as we go to air such as soft Jaws for the Changer and a larger pivot pin is available as well. More Tyre pliers products will be featuring in the near future on EMD so keep an eye put for those.

The Motorcycle changer retails for around $649-00AUD and can be easily mounted in a workshop and with removable work head be substituted for Car or ATV work heads or removed and used in other locations. We'll bring you more images of our trailer mount in the near future.

If you need to change tyres then this is the tool you need. Average change time is now down to less than 5 minutes and Wazza is in 7th heaven.
