ASR’s reputation as ‘the place where trends start’ continues this January with an influx of the hottest emerging labels on the market.
Many of the brands feature artist driven designs and limited edition product. Strand Mfg, Atticus, Amadeo Decada, the ryde, Convoy, Beck(y), Andria Renee, Dangerous Breed, Lovethislife, Mada and Player420 are just some of the brands making a debut.
Scot Shandalove, Founder of Strand says, “We’re excited about meeting with the specialty boutiques and ‘core skate shops who are shopping ASR this season to diversify their assortments and carry a new premium collection.”
New-to-ASR heavy hitters such as SHUT and Grn Apple Tree will be shaking things up on ASR’s floor. SHUT out of New York City is showing skate influenced apparel and hard goods for fall. There are over two-dozen new brands signed on so far for ASR, including as Australian Dirt Bike Inspired Brand EatmyDirt.
The Eatmydirt MX Clothing features fashion forward casual clothing designed as a lifestyle brand with attitude. Fresh, original artwork and uniquely innovative detailing, characterize its progressive and distinctive styling. The line sells nationally in Australia and in keeping with its long-term goals to become a globally recognized brand, it is now executing expansion plans to overseas markets.
“ASR has cross country traffic that we’re looking for to expand into the US fashion market. Buyers come in to find up-and-coming brands in a place where small brands are put on a pedestal, we can shine here.” Says Mark Sedran of EMD MX Clothing.
Other noteable players from Australia such as Billabong, Rusty, Rip Curl and Cult Industries have made a name for themselves in the US using ASR as a platform for that success.
With ASR being predominately Skate and Surf the dirt bike market is not one accustomed to having a fashion content mixed with the Moto-X theme.
This mix has placed EMD in a unique position in the market as pioneering a MX themed fashion product into the retail fashion area. A move that has proven itself succesful in Australia.
"Most dirt bike stores don't do fashion well if at all and people seeking dirt bike inspired fashion have had a very limited choice in the marketplace" Sedran said. "We have filled that void and are now looking to replicate our Australian Success here in the US".
With big names like Aplinestars and Fox making an appearance as well. Alpinstars have an opendoor policy but Fox is by appointment only. With Fox epanding their lines into Eyewaer and Footwear they are keen to keep their plans under wraps until the seasons stock hit the retailers floors.
We bring you this and more as we uncover what's hot and what the latest in street fashion from all over the world.
From here it's off to Anahiem's Angel Stadium and the home of AMP'ed Supercross.
See you on the track
