Kawasaki reasserts its claim to the personal watercraft throne with the release of the new Ultra 260X and Ultra 260LX Jet Skis. With both models dishing out a whopping 260 horsepower (191kW) of supercharged, adrenaline laced power, they are quite simply unmatched in the world of personal watercraft. Both new models are available now at the RRP of $22,499 for the Ultra 260X and $22,999 for the Ultra 260LX.

A direct descendent to the previous King of Jet Ski watercraft, the supercharged Ultra 250X, these two new models utilise new pistons, cams, exhaust system, ignition timing, jet pump and reinforced hull to reclaim their place atop the watercraft world. For those wanting a sophisticated touch, the new Ultra 260LX adds a plush “LXuryseat” with separate spaces for each passenger that provides a more secure, planted feel.

Kawasaki’s most powerful Jet Ski models to date are also the most refined. It’s one thing to be able to say you’re the fastest, however raw power is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the sheer magnificence of these two new models. The Ultra 260X and Ultra 260LX retain their stable and sporty handling characteristics in all water conditions thanks to deep 22.5 degree V-angle fiberglass hulls designed using feedback from Kawasaki’s IJSBA championship winning machines. 5-position adjustable steering assures a comfortable ride for riders of all sizes while a massive industry leading 200 litre storage capacity proves very convenient.

Other notable upgrades to the Ultra 260X and Ultra 260LX include the addition of a new impeller with revised pitch to match the increased power output of the engine for better acceleration performance. Bow sides are also reinforced for increased rigidity.

Thinking perhaps the power could be a bit much for inexperienced riders? Kawasaki has that covered with Smart Learning Operation (SLO) mode that comes standard on both the Ultra 260X and Ultra 260LX. Activated with a separate key, SLO mode limits engine speed to approximately 5,800 rpm which reduces maximum speed by approximately 30 percent. When activated, SLO appears on the easy to read multifunction meter screen.

The Ultra 260X is available now in Sunbeam Red or Ebony with Galaxy Silver and the Ultra 260LX is available in Phantom Silver with Jet White. See them for yourself at your nearest Kawasaki Jet Ski Dealership today.
