Since 1980, Pirelli has dominated the World MX Championship, winning a combined 51 titles between MX1 and MX2 up until now. That’s more than all other tyre brands combined. The latest winner for Pirelli was Tyler Rattray in MX2 in 2008.
As a consequence of Pirelli’s experience in motocross racing over many years, the Pirelli motocross Range has continuously improved and grown to bring us this latest development, the SCORPION MX Mid Soft Mud rear tyre.
To ensure the continued improvement of racing performance on soft terrains Pirelli presents a new 110/90-19 rear tyre to match the Scorpion MX Mid Soft (32) front, giving Australian riders the latest race proven choice on the rear of their bikes. This product has been developed in 2008 and 2009 thanks to the input of Stefan Everts and Pirelli’s development team, and has also been used in race conditions by Ken De Dycker (Suzuki) and David Phillappaerts (Yamaha) amongst many others.
This tyre has the following improved characteristics:
- Excellent traction and self-cleaning properties so riders can push hard from the start;
- Extreme directionality and stability to hold the perfect line;
- Ability to provide high performance even in heavy mud conditions.
Tread pattern
The new tread pattern uses 38 different pitches to improve the space and self cleaning characteristics of this tyre. Seventeen centimetre high knobs provide fast starts,while the cut of the central knobs provide superlative breaking power on soft terrain.
Central paddle layout knobs to provide extraordinary traction and when braking; - More space within the knobs guarantees self-cleaning properties even in muddy conditions;

Range and Availability
This rear tyre is available in size 110/90-19 NHS 62M, and can be used with the Mid Soft (32) front already available in the Pirelli range.
