YMA has released its YZF-R15 'mini R1' for sale at just $3999 RRP inc GST.

This 150cc fuel injected and liquid cooled four-stroke is set to become a key model in Yamaha's road range due to a mix of genuine R-series credentials and a great low price.

The learner legal R15 is a full size machine capable at cruising well in excess of legal motorway speed while covering around 45 kms per litre of fuel. The mix of Deltabox chassis and R-series technology is bound to appeal to commuters and sports enthusiasts alike.

Plus with the help of Yamaha Motor Finance, participating dealers are offering the new model at a speical introductory price of under $20 a week, or $4799 ride away (RRP $3999 inc GST). That's cheaper than a weekly bus or train pass and is firmly aimed at persuading commuters to ride to work instead of clogging up the roads in a car or enduring the hassle of public transport.

"The new YZF-R15 is aimed at the entry level rider and commuter. Customers who may own or wish to own an R-series sports bike but who appreciate a cost effective transport solution. The low purchase price and running costs mean you could even ride an R15 to work in the week and enjoy an R1/R6 on the weekends," says YMA Communications Manager Sean Goldhawk.

"The R15 copes amazingly well with the harsh reality of everyday travel and is extremely cost effective while still offering a heap of fun. It's a real freedom machine and a genuine alternative to the bus, train or car," he continues.
