Despite starting the championship with serious injuries, both Harrison Wooding and Carley Emanuelli have come home in blistering form to take a championship win and a series podium after the final round of the Victorian motocross titles were held at the fast and well prepared Blue Rock Circuit recently.

Wooding recovered from a plated collarbone earlier in the season to win the B – Grade Victorian championship on his Bendigo Yamaha YZ250F while Carli dealt with cracked ribs to steer her YZ250F home for second in the Womens category in another strong showing for the Victorian Yamaha Development Team.
In spite of never seeing the picturesque undulating track before and entering the final round six points down on the leader, there was plenty of work for Harrison Wooding to do over the weekend if he wanted to claim the championship. And work he did, he brushed off first turn pile ups and rode with street smarts to bring home a 3-2-3 result in the three points paying motos to claim the championship in his first year of senior competition.
“My goal was to win this championship at the start of the year and it feels good to achieve it. There were a few hi-cups along the way, but we managed to pull it off and get it done. I have to thank everyone involved in the team as well as Bendigo Yamaha for their support of my racing,” said the new champ.

Carley Emanuelli (Doyle & Shields) was in third place as she hit the final round. There was no hope of catching the championship leader, so her focus was on getting a good result for the day and nailling down second place in the championship.
Those goals soon become reality as Emanuelli racked up 2-2-3 placings in her three races to lock down second overall for the day and more importantly second overall in the championship behind KTM's Kristy Gillespie. Emanuelli holeshotted her motos all day and and never once ran outside of the top three in a strong performance that showed just what she is capable of.
“After a disappointing round earlier in the championship, I wasn't expecting to finish in the top three, so I am stoked to finish second. I was happy with the way I race today and feel that this is the beginning of some big improvement I have in me,” she offered at days end.
