Rampant Clothing’s Kristy Gillespie continued her winning form at the weekend, easily taking the Women’s Class victory at round one of the 2009 Victorian Motocross Championship, held at Broadford.

The reigning Australian Women’s MX Champion and Victorian champ won all three heats, despite getting hit by another racer in the first corner of the second race.

“Our bikes got tangled together, so I was last off the start,” Gillespie, 21, from Albury (NSW), said.

“But I was able to work my way up to first again with about a lap and a half to go.

“In the third heat I finally got my act together and got a hole shot and lead to the finish, so I was pretty happy with my ride.”

Gillespie, who has been a Rampant Rider since the beginning of last season, said she loved being supported by the company.

“The clothes are awesome... the new range is really good and looks fantastic,” she said.

“All the clothes are really comfortable... I have too many favourites to choose just one, but I guess if I had to it would be the orange t-shirt with the ants all over it."

Gillespie, who is also sponsored by the GMR Motorex KTM Racing Team, said her next race would be the second round of the Victorian titles at Ballarat early next month.

Also a keen coach, this weekend Gillespie will be teaching sick children to ride dirt bikes.

Rampant’s Founder and Manager, Erin Larmor, said they were very proud of Gillespie’s achievements.

“We signed Kristy up at the start of last season because we really liked what she’d been doing,” Larmor said.

“She proved to be a real fighter on and off the bike, very humble and genuine - these traits are a definite plus when we look to approach riders to represent the label.”

Rampant Clothing sponsor four dirt bike chicks: Gillespie, enduro-ace Jemma Wilson, reigning Canadian Pro Women’s MX Champion, Jacqueline Ross, and up-and-comer Bianca Whyte.

The company also support three male off-road/motocross riders: Nathan Castle, Luke Wilson and Kerrod Morrissy.

Rampant Clothing is an Australian owned and operated, all-in-one design and manufacturing house that has expanded by leaps and bounds since it was established in mid-2007.

The company offers an impressive collection for guys, girls and kids of all sizes.
