More than 130 ‘little revvers’ ripped-it-up at Dunedoo (NSW) today at round three of the popular Yamaha MX Cross Cup series.

Seniors and the highest capacity Junior class (250cc 13/14-years) are up tomorrow.

Team Shift Motul Suzuki young-gun Luke Clout turned some heads in the challenging, dusty conditions, winning both Junior 125cc 13/14-years heats ahead of Hayden Mellross (Thor Honda Racing).

Clout was six-points behind Corey James for the class lead in the series point’s race going into today’s round. Corey James didn’t race today.

Clout also won Junior 85/150cc 14/15-years.

Mellross was also able to claim a class victory, in Junior 85/150cc 12/13-years.

Event organiser, Phil Sargent, of Dirt Bike Promotions, said great racing had been seen in all the Junior heats.

“It’s dusty this weekend and we’re doing everything we can to alleviate the conditions,” Sargent said.

“But it’s good to see these tough junior racers can ride this type of track even when its dry and slippery.

“They put on a good show today and many will now be staying on tomorrow to watch the senior classes and some of their heros in Pro Lites and Open.”

In the eldest Junior class of today, Canberra Motorcycle Centre rider Joe Gillespie took the win in Junior Lites 15-years ahead of Errol Willis (Wagga Brake and Steering Specialists).

Gillespie’s consistency paid off, with his dual second-place finishes allowing him to edge ahead of Willis by one-point.

Willis had a five-point lead over Brock Fayle in the championship points race going into today’s round. Gillespie was 13th before his performance today.

In Junior Lites Girls it was Tayla Jones (Pro Rider Motorcycles) who came out on top of Caprice Russell.

Jones was 39-points off leader Meghan Rutledge (in fourth) for the series class lead going into today’s contest.

In Junior 85/150cc 9 to U12-years, Dylan Heaton was the quickest, winning both heats.

Lithgow-boy Elias Dukes took out Junior 65cc 10/13-years. Brother Riley Dukes won his class, too: Junior 65cc 7/9-years.

And in the 50cc class, Rhys Budd took the number one trophy.
