As the 2009 MX season starts to hit full-swing, the NSW Yamaha Junior Development Team has, again, made deep indents towards making 2009 - a 'Blue' year.

With riders spread across three events over the weekend; from the Keith Allen Classic at Cessnock to the last club round at Albury before the Junior World Championships qualifier, the YJDT came away with a swag of results and some outstanding performances.

9-12yrs 85cc rider Dylan Heaton was the sole representative at the Keith Allen Classic at Cessnock over the weekend - the same race in which sustained a badly broken leg one-year-ago. Whilst this may have been playing on his mind, it didn't show as Heaton put all of that behind him and turned on one of his best riding performances on the year to date.

Blasting out of the gates against his two biggest rivals on the state and national scene, Heaton ran away with race one and two by almost four-seconds. As the track began to deteriorate rapidly, Heaton overcome a bad start to move up to second in race three, however, with just seconds between himself and the leader, Heaton came unstuck in the difficult whoops section and lost valuable time and place. He remounted though and worked his way back to fourth by race end.

His two impressive first places and his fourth were enough though to see him walk away with the winners trophy and again left his main competitors scratching their heads.

Mackenzie Tricker has been a girl on a mission of late, even going as far as traveling to Gunadah to race flat-track with the aim of improving her cornering technique and speed - and it's paying off.

'Kenny' went head-to-head with both the boys and the girls at Oakdale and turned in some impressive rides, even beating hard-charging riders such as Corey James, Luke Clout and Megan Rutledge in the process.

With some fantastic race finishes including a second and third, Tricker ended the day with an impressive third place overall and will no doubt be the rider to catch when the team heads to round one of the 2009 NSW State MX Titles.

Recently returning from injury, Jordan Bissaker was also present at Oakdale and turned in a stella performance in only his second ride back from a long lay-off with a broken wrist.

Bissaker seemed to be right back in the mix, banging bars few his biggest rivals that have been at full-pace the entire time he has been off the bike. Bissaker was unable to get away from the gates cleanly though, but made his way through the pack to secure some top-five results to round out his first MX meet back with a solid fourth on his YZ85.

Jordan also contested his first motocross aboard a YZ125 and whilst he is still coming to grips with the bigger bike, he still managed some great results inside the top-ten before the day was shortened due to nasty crash involving Corey James. With two and half races under his belt, 'Bizzo' wrapped up seventh on the day and is well on his way to running down the leaders in the Junior Lites.

Continuing his impressive debut year with the YJDT, Brock Fayle blew the competition away at Albury, in the last shake-down before the Junior World Championship Qualifier next weekend.

In a faultless display, Fayle went three wins from three starts on the day to claim the number one spot for the event, taking down many big names along the way and secured the attention of many senior Pro's - who were also in attendance, preparing for round one of the MX Nationals next week.

All riders will now focus their attention towards the 2009 NSW State Titles which kick-off at Oakdale in two-weeks time.

*NOTE: On behalf of all of the YJDT riders and team members, we would like to pass on our best wishes to Corey James and wish him a speedy recovery after his crash at Oakdale on Sunday.
