No less than seven Australian pairings will face off against a host of international raiders, eager to take the 2011 FIM Track Racing Sidecar 1000cc World Championship off our shores.
Murray Bridge Speedway will play host to the World Championship, with a star-studded list of Australian riders hoping to continue our great tradition in Speedway Sidecar racing.
While the team of Mick Headland and Paul Waters have the silverware (2007 and 2009 World Champions) the Western Australian pairing of Glenn O’Brien and Aaron Maynard have form on their side.
The duo are the reigning Australian Speedway Sidecar Champions and will regarded as one of teams to beat come Saturday night in Murray Bridge.
O’Brien/Maynard will be joined by one of the most successful Speedway Sidecar pairing of the past decade with 2008 World Champions and three-time Australian Champions Darrin Treloar and Justin Plaisted also on the starting list.
Rounding out the seven-strong Australian team presence will be 2009 Champions Mark Mitchell/Tom Golding, Chris Pascoe/Simon Cohrs, Mark Plaisted/Jamie Banks and Grant Bond/Glenn Cox.
