BMW Motorrad Australia has announced the details of this year's much-anticipated Off-Road Training Courses.
The two courses will be held in NSW at Dargle Valley and in Victoria at the Werribee 4X4 proving ground only a 45-minute ride from Melbourne. Two magnificent venues that are ideal for creating the full range of conditions GS riders may encounter on their Off-Road adventures.
BMW Motorcycle Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Tony Sesto, said that the BMW Motorrad Off-Road Training Course was a great way for BMW GS riders to improve their skills and get the most from their motorcycles.
"For 30 years BMW GS riders have enjoyed the unique qualities of BMW Motorrad's class leading motorcycles, these courses will improve rider skills, increase confidence and help riders explore the full capabilities of their motorcycles" said Tony Sesto "The motorcycles are Unstoppable after doing the course, the riders will be the same".
BMW GS "Adventure bike" course
Learn all the skills required to get the most out of your BMW GS machine. You will have a new level of confidence when your Adventure heads off road.
During the two-day course, participants are taught the fundamental techniques of off-road riding and will progress to a level they never before thought achievable. These basic techniques are the core elements of novice through to advanced riding.
Some of the skills covered are:
- How to lift, balance and manoeuvre a motorcycle in awkward situations
- Slow-speed manoeuvring and control
- Correct body position/balance
- Throttle and clutch control
- Cornering
- Braking
- Ascending and descending hills safely and confidently
- Riding over/around obstacles
BMW Motorrad Off-Road Skills Training Courses have been specifically designed for riders of all levels. No matter whether you have had very little (or even none) off-road experience or have been dirt riding for years, the outcome is that everyone will learn a lot of new tricks and have a great time as well.
All courses are conducted by BMW Motorrad's Authorised Training Partner, Stay Upright Pty Ltd, which employs some of Australia's best instructors
