After a remarkable 2009 season that saw her win the Australian Womens Motocross Championship in her rookie season, Tori Dare is continuing on the good from in 2010 with great results so far this season.

The young 17 year old from the New South Wales south coast has claimed the NSW women’s title and holds an unbeatable lead in the Amcross Series and is using these events as warm up races as she prepares to defend her crown at Australian Women’s Motocross Championship at Albury during October.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing for Tori, as a heavy first turn accident in one moto of the state title rounds saw her crashing hard. Courageously she restarted after being a lap down to the lead riders and incredibly rode to fourth in the moto.
Other than that one race, Tori and her Bikebiz YZ250f Yamaha have been untouchable.
“It has been a great lead up to the Australian championships. I have been training super hard on both the YZ250F and the 450F and I don’t think I have ever been fitter or stronger,” enthused Tori.
Tori has set her sights on dominating the Womens scene in Australia for the rest of 2010 and has high hopes of an opportunity to race overseas in the near future.
“Any opportunity to race in the U.S or Europe just to prove myself and hopefully score a ride in a major series is the immediate goal for us.”
Tori would like to thank all the people supporting her racing, and special thanks to the major sponsors, BIKEBIZ , AXO,BEL RAY, KENDA and SHARK.
Meanwhile, her Queensland counterpart in Courtney Knight (Team Moto Moorooka) used a spare weekend in her motocross calendar to compete at the Queensland Dirt Track Championships at Nudgee.
Despite never racing Dirt Track before, Knight picked up the speed quickly and completed the Unlimited Girls Championship event in second place on board her YZ250F and winning the final two races.
“I was talked into doing this event and I am glad I did as I had a heap of fun. The races are over way too fast, but it was cool to get my bike wide open down the straights and slide it around the turns, offered the teenage sensation.
Knight’s team mate, Tamara Gray also keeps racking up race wins and has won the opening two rounds of the Queensland ThunderX Series in the Girls division. Gray has won all five races contested so far and is now 25 points clear of her nearest rival.
“I have had some more time since the Queensland titles to get more ride time in and I feel strong on the bike,” Tamara explains of her recent success.
The third round will be August 29 at Conondale, and the final round will be Echo Valley on October 10, where Gray hopes to wrap up her fifth ThunderX championship.
All three girls are expected to be front runners in the upcoming Australian Women’s Motocross Championships and are working hard to secure Yamaha another top result in a national championship.
