BMW Motorrad GS riders can now share their GS memories with fellow enthusiasts via a specially created "Thank you GS" photo book which has been placed on the BMW Motorrad website, to enable riders to register and upload images of themselves and their machines.

As part of the 30 Years of GS celebration, BMW has launched four Special Edition models and enjoyed a resurgence of enthusiasm surrounding this iconic and classic Adventurer. Likewise, customer demand for the GS models is at a peak, and the "Thank you GS" photo book perpetuates this success story.
The BMW GS is widely acknowledged as the most successful BMW Motorrad model ever released. 30 years ago in 1980, a new type of motorcycling came into being which merged a number of different trends to create a completely new and unique concept: a supreme mode of travel, both on, and off, the road, suitable for both sports and touring, with a powerful engine and a robust structure.
The GS class was born with the original forbearer of the series, the R 80 G/S - G standing for the German word "Gelände" (terrain) and the S for "Sport" and later for "Strasse" (road). From the very beginning white/blue/red was the colour code for a GS – derived from the company’s motor racing colours.
