The Motorcycle Racing Club of Victoria played host’s to the latest rounds of  2010 championship at Victoria’s home of motorcycle sport, Reg Hunt Park.

The M.C.R.C.V has a great heritage with Broadford dating back to The Mr Motocross era of the 70’s and 80’s The weather and track conditions certainly played into the clubs and riders favour.

Saturdays cross country saw a very interesting line up in the pro ranks, as a few top motocross racers took on the enduro guys for the 3 hour battle. Outright top 3 and Pro Junior results.

Justin Carafa (Suzuki) took the checkers for outright 1st and his first win for season 2010, followed by championship leader Suzuki rider Dan Milner, 3rd went to late hard charger Chris Davey who was to suffer a very unlucky and
painful injury on his Yamaha in Sundays sprints. This was very unfortunate because “Davey” was putting down some outright times over the weekend.

Pro- Senior had Kawasaki’s Dale Martin in for 1st from KTM’S Brendan Harper and Dwayne Lloyd bringing his Yamaha in 3rd.

The Expert 2 class had Gas Gas racer Russ Walter 1St from KTM’s Rick Miles and Jayden Grimshaw in 3rd. Expert 1 had Kawasaki’s Rhys Bennett in top spot from Husky’s Ash Day and Nick Bloye grabbing 3rd on a Yamaha.

Sunday saw the M.C.R.C.V cut the course in half and get 2 sprint loops ready to go, with conditions drying out and the sun shining the scene was set for another fantastic day of racing.

Pro ranks attracted a fast field and it was Christensen’s Suzuki #1 Dan Milner bouncing back to grab the outright win, from Yamaha’s Blake Hore, and Carafa on the podium again for 3rd Pro Junior results 1st Dan Milner, 2nd Justin Carafa, and 3rd Peter Boyle(Kawasaki) Pro Senior had 1ST Blake Hore, 2nd Dale Martin and Brendan Harper in 3rd place.

The expert ranks had the following results for the sprints,

E1, Husky’s Ash Day 1st, Troy Maynes 2nd (KTM) and Brandon Healey (Honda) 3rd.

E2 had the same names from Saturday but in a different order Rick Miles bounced back for a win, 2ND went to Russ Walter, 3rd Jayden Grimshaw.

The whole weekend proved to be a huge success at the states premier motorcycle complex at Broadford with great entry’s fantastic hard fought racing, easy access from Melbourne and a professionally run championship by the
V.O.R.C committee in participation with the organizing club, the Victorian Off-Road Championship is alive and well.
