With respect to the press release issued on 9 June 2010 about the Erzberg staging an Extreme Enduro World Championship, we would like to give the following statement: The events "Hell´s Gate"/Italy, "The Tough One"/UK, "Red Bull Romaniacs"/Romania and "Roof of Africa"/Lesotho,South Africa are all part of the World Xtreme Enduro Championship (WXEC) series 2011, as is the Erzberg Rodeo/Austria! The organisers of the Erzberg Rodeo are certainly free to declare their own world championship, but such decision seems a bit odd. All organisers of the WXEC, with the exception of the Erzberg Rodeo, share the common perspective that a world championship should not consist of one single race.
The high personal and financial effort of those participants competing at international Extreme Enduro races is not well respected in a one-race championship. Purely for sporting reasons, riders should be given the opportunity to take part in several events on their quest for world championship glory.
The regulations for the WXEC 2011 will be online on 1 September 2010. Riders can enter the series starting from that date.
