Williams Event Management (WEM) would like to confirm that the seventh round of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals will now be held at the Moree Motorcycle Club, in NSW on Sunday 18 July.

The track is located about 10 minutes North of Moree and the change of venue for the penultimate round is welcome news for Bourke local and life member of the Moree Motorcycle Club, Tye Simmonds, who often has to drive for hundreds of kilometres get to each round of the Series.

The JDR Motorex KTM rider, currently placed second in the Championship, is looking forward to a home round (albeit still five hours away) and is hoping to see a massive crowd come out to support both himself, and the Series, when the event rolls into town.

“I’m so excited to have a round of the Series at my home club,” Simmonds said.

“Dad and I always have to travel so far for each of the rounds so it’ll be nice to be closer to home and for everyone to come to us for a change!

“Everyone out this way has been so supportive of my riding over the years so this is a great chance for me to show them what I can do, competing against the best in Australia and even some international riders, so I hope they all come along to see what it’s about.”

With international stardom calling the 18 year old, this could be the only opportunity for local fans to see Simmonds ride a national event at his own club track.

Series Promoter and Director of WEM, Kevin Williams, said that they had originally planned on holding the seventh round of the Series at Port Macquarie, NSW, however with the round now at Moree, Northern NSW fans are still able to be part of the action, albeit a few hours inland.

“We’re stoked to be able to bring the penultimate round of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals to Moree,” Williams said.

“While we had originally planned on holding the round at Port Macquarie, the Moree Motorcycle Club have done an awesome job to provide us with a venue at short notice, and are looking forward to having local star Tye Simmonds, ride a round of the Nationals at his home club.”

The sixth round of the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals will be held on Sunday 27June at:
Albury Wodonga Motorcycle Club
Diamond Park
Lincoln Causeway
Wodonga VIC
Admission:
Adult $30
Family (Two adults, two kids) $70
