POINTS OF INTEREST:
· GMR Motorex KTM racers collect podium results in all 5 classes contested at Roma and are podium contenders for all five series overalls
QUOTES
RACER – Reece Rayner
“I am really happy with my speed at the moment on both bikes,” said Rayner. “Except for one crash on the 85 where I finished 10th, all of my other race results were top threes. I am now second overall in the series on both bikes which is awesome.”
RACER – Scott Mann
“I took 2-1-1 on the 85 at Roma,” said Mann. “In race one I was coming through the pack and about to make a pass for the lead but high-sided through a mud patch so second was a pretty good result in the end. I won the next two races to take the win for the day.
“In the Lites I had a pretty good day. I made just a couple of small mistakes, but the highlight for me was the final race where I had to come through the pack after a bad start and fight my way up to second. My results gave me third for the day and I was the first two-stroke as I was on my KTM 150SX up against four-strokes.
“I am now running first overall on the 85 and second overall in the series in the 13-14 years Lites.”
RACER – Jay Wilson
“I was happy with my results at Roma,” said Wilson. “I picked up 1-2-1 results which gave me the win for the day and keeps me in the lead for the series.
“I have been working hard on my training and it is really paying off. I have some big race meets coming up including the next round of the Shell Series at Tivoli and the second round of the NSW Motocross Titles which I am leading in two classes, so it’s important I stay on my game.”
TEAM MANAGER – Glenn Macdonald
“Reece, Scott and Jay are performing extremely well in the series and each of them are running top three in all five classes we are contesting,” said Macdonald. “It is going to be close racing to the very end of this series, and I am looking forward to the outcome.”
