KTM mounted Brad Williscroft from NSW has won the Top End's toughest motorbike enduro race for the second year running.

See the ABC Footage here >>

It was with trepidation that 60 bike riders stood behind their bikes on the start line for the 2010 NT Motorcycle Centre / Channel 9 KAMFARI as the starter walked across in from with 2 croc handlers, both holding small crocodiles.

“Been out doing a bit of croc catching this morning and managed to snare these 2 young uns” says Luigi, the starter, “ but missed the mother. Just be aware she is out there and angry, so be careful”

Minutes later a shotgun blast pierced the quiet and 60 bikes roared into life.
At the end of the start straight there was a hard left Which Jehi Willis, Mark Sladek, Jason Hill and Brad Williscroft all tried to jam their bike into at once.

Jehi came out in front and jumped straight over the creek crossing without backing off and off onto his first lap. Unfortunately for Jehi his bike was to eat a bearing in the gearbox on that lap and force him out. For those that don’t know of Jehi, he travelled with his Dad all the way up from south, just to compete in the Kamfari.

It took a few laps for Brad Williscroft to stamp his authority over the bikes and take the lead, then keep up his steady, cool headed pace for the rest of the ride.
Brad has won 4 Kamfari in a row now and 5 overall. He has his eyes on Kamfari all time great ; Tony Morris who won ten.

Local and up and coming enduro rider; Floyd Thompson, drowned his bike on the 4th lap for about 4 laps. Roughly at the same time NT bike legend Jason hill totally drowned his in a shallow lagoon which ended his day.

The course was through Jungle, lagoons, bush single trail, mudplains, sand and some deep bottomless mud which was at the bar and canteen area. Spectators loved this and cheered on many a fallen or bogged rider. Overall each lap was 14.5 KM .

Most riders ended their day with mechanical breakdown although there were a few that suffered from fitness (or the lack of it).

This Kamfari was voted the best ever by most riders and thanks must go to all the organisers and helpers. We must also pay thanks to MLA Minister Karl Hampton, MLA Gerry Wood, Motorsports NT president; Grant Hammon, Michelle Nuske and the Landowner; Power and Water Corporation.
