V8 Supercar Champion Rick Kelly continues his long association with Honda Australia in 2010 having recently taken possession of a new CRF450R to use for training in between rounds..

With nine full V8 Supercar seasons under his belt, Kelly, at the ripe age of 27, is a seasoned veteran although still regarded by many as one of the "young guns" of the sport.

Kelly captured his first V8 Supercar Championship in 2006, won Bathurst twice in 2003 and 2004, and is continuing to impress in 2010 with brother and team mate Todd and their Jack Daniels Holden Commodore Team. Rick is currently in seventh place in the Championship and is just four points outside the top five.

He has ridden both two wheeled and four wheeled Hondas for years on his farm in Mildura, Victoria.

“Our family property in Mildura provides us with a great opportunity to take a break from the fast paced lifestyle of V8 Supercars,” Rick says.

“One of my favourite pastimes is riding the CRF around the property. We have a very diverse range of terrain from sand hills to river crossings, to clay plans which provide a lot of fun.”

“Prior to the delivery of the 2010 CRF450R I was riding a 2005 model CRF450R, which was by far the best bike I have ever owned. It was quite a surprise to jump onto the new model to see and feel just how far these bikes have come in 5 years.”

“It is a lot different to my old bike, and I’m quite excited about the handling improvements, general feel and in particular the fuel injection.”

“I love working with the crew at Honda and the Honda brand. I have been working with them since 2004 and have enjoyed watching the evolution of the products.”

Honda’s CRF450R is a highly accessible motocross machine, suitable for a wide range of riders, regardless if the competition is personal or professional.
