Round three of the Yamaha Victorian offroad championships was run on the weekend in conditions like those back in the 90’s.
It was an Enduro around the small logging town of Erica, it was wet and slick and totally awesome! It was tough, if you could keep your bike pointed in the right direction then you did ok.
There were seven tests for the day with the first MX style test fifteen minutes in and with no pre ride.
The juniors used the same track on the Saturday so it was well cut in. I found I had to rail all of the berms because if I tried to take an inside line my front tyre just wanted to let go.
The next two bush tests were long and rough and run one straight after the other. Early in the day they were reasonably dry but at the end of the day they were raging torrents. As I said “awesome”!
We did four 60k laps finishing the end of the day with the two long tests. I got to the finish line after 8 hard hours without dropping any trail time.
As a result I took Clubman outright once again which maintains my lead in both the C2 class and Clubman outright.
Thanks to the DMCC for running a top event. Next up is a sprint and Cross Country down at Corner Inlet.
Nixz Kerr was also there once again putting in the hard yards in the mud and the rain getting great shots of both the Juniors on Saturday and the Seniors on Sunday. Go to the link below and check them out.
