The weekend saw the opening round for the 2010 MX National championship held in Horsham Victoria.
The first round of this year’s National Championship season proved very encouraging for the Husqvarna brand and while the final results were less than ideal, the performance of the 2010 Husqvarna bikes clearly demonstrated that the brand has what it takes to compete at the business end of the field.

I put a lot of pressure on myself to perform this weekend being the opening round for the season but things just didn’t go our way. Despite the final results I am really impressed with the performance of the Husqvarna and we certainly have the speed to run with the leaders."
Berry Sweet Husqvarna’s Pro Opens rider Craig Anderson impressed with consistent holeshot’s throughout the weekend on the Husqvarna TC 450 and if not for several mid race incidents Craig was well positioned to challenge for a spot on the podium.

"I was looking for a better result this time, but I am stoked with the power of the Husqvarna 250, it has plenty of speed and I am sure we can get the results we are looking for" Said Matt!.
Husqvarna Racing’s Pro Lites rider Matt Ryan showed good speed with his Husqvarna TC 250 that had him challenging for the lead in race three until a crash saw him finish further down the field.

Husqvarna Racing’s Jake Wright made a big step up from juniors to under 19’s at the Horsham event. Jake realized his potential to do well in the in the 2010 championship and demonstrated his ability by working his way through the pack from 16th position up to a strong 7th place. With some work on his starts Jake should prove to be a contender in this year’s battle
"As a junior I was used to running at the front end of the pack and after race one I realized that the under 19’s at the National level is super competitive with some very experienced and very fast guys. The slippery conditions due to the rain made the racing really challenging." Said Jake!
Husqvarna Australia’s Paul Feeney was pleased with the potential demonstrated on the weekend and Husqvarna shows real promise for the coming rounds with potential podium finishes within reach earlier than anticipated.
Husqvarna Racing would like to thank Kevin Williams and his crew for their professionalism in promoting the event along with Husqvarna Racing’s sponsors for their valued support.
