There is no shortage of motivations for Josh Bunt when he competes in the ‘Which Bike Motorcycle Wreckers – Newcastle’ NSW Junior Dirt Track Championship at Barleigh Ranch Raceway this Sunday (May 3). After finishing second in last year’s NSW Championship in both the 125cc 13 to Under 16 Years and 250cc 13 to Under 16 Years classes, the 16-year-old from Seaham is not content with second place this year and wants to come away with the victory spoils.

Building up bike time leading up to the Australian Safari, KTM riders Matt Fish and David Schwarz entered the gruelling Yilgarn Rally in Southern Cross (WA), dominating the event on the KTM 530 EXC to take one and two respectively on the podium. Speaking on behalf of KTM’s entry, David Schwarz comments, “The terrain in the Yilgarn Rally is varied just like the Australian Safari, and the KTM 530 EXC easily handled the conditions.

The first grass-track motocross round of the new, Yamaha MX Cross Cup Series is set for blast-off at Dunedoo (NSW) this weekend. Hundreds of dirt bikers will flock to the town to take part in the race, the third in the six-round Yamaha MXCC.

San Manual Yamaha’s James Stewart, of Haines City, Fla., won his 11th Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, a FIM World Championship, race at Rice-Eccles Stadium before 40,612 fans. Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., capped off the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class season with the championship. In tonight’s Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class main event, GEICO Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard, of Shawnee, Okla., won his first race of the season.

Canberra, the Australian Capital Territory, there I was and I did not see Kevin Rudd. Where was the Prime Minister? I was expecting him to be there to see us race and at least sing the National Anthem. Well he missed two days of great racing and a lot of people came out to watch us. Maybe Kevin was in his casual gear watching from the sidelines.

Sutto’s KTM Alpinestars rider Geoff Braico has claimed his first A4DE podium with a 3rd in Class 5. (over 290 2 stroke/over 500 4 stroke). With 4 days of rain leading up to the event, both riders and organisers were hoping for perfect conditions. There was 3 special tests (2 MX, 1 Enduro) and each of them was different. However, there was one thing in common and that was the dust. As the ground was so soft, the tracks deteriorated quickly and became a real challenge for the riders.
